The Big-12 introduced a new commissioner on Wednesday, Brett Yormark. However, Oklahoma State Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy stole the show for a brief moment. Gundy jokingly made a suggestion about the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners, two college football powerhouses who left the Big-12 for the SEC just a year ago. Here are Gundy's words, via ESPN.

“It's interesting,” Gundy told reporters shortly after his remarks on stage at Big 12 media days. “We go to conference meetings, and OU and Texas are in there. They're still in the conference. But I'm guessing when they leave, they're scratching down things that can help them when they're in the SEC. So it is an unusual situation. I think there's a business side of it that nowadays people say, ‘It is what it is.' Which 10 years ago, they might not even let them in meetings. “The new commissioner, I mean, honestly if I was him, I wouldn't let OU and Texas in any meetings.”

Mike Gundy said that if he were the new Big-12 commissioner, he “wouldn't let Oklahoma and Texas in any meetings.” The Oklahoma State head coach said that he was “joking.”

However, he raises a good point. It's not exactly good for Big-12 business that Texas and Oklahoma, set to join the SEC when their contract expires in 2025, are still listening in on meetings.

Gundy likened it to two competing phone companies. Of course, the realignment train rolled on in June, as USC and UCLA opted to bolt from the Pac-12 for the Big Ten.

What did Mike Gundy have to say about future conference realignment? He brought up The Carpenter' 1970 hit, “We've Only Just Begun” to laughs from reporters.

Gundy's got jokes. And good points.
