Indiana Pacers guard Buddy Hield had some rather interesting postgame comments after eliminating the Boston Celtics from the In-Season Tournament.

ā€œIn all scheme of things, I don't think the league would really want Indiana inside of the Final Fourā€, Hield said with a smile. ā€œLet's keep it real. Boston Celtics sounds a lot betterā€, he added amidst the laughter of the reporters.

It's understandable why Hield thinks this way. Heading into their In-Season Tournament matchup on Monday night, everyone expected the Celtics to advance. However, led by Tyrese Haliburton's triple-double and six other Pacers scoring in double figures, Indiana shocked the world by slaying the Eastern Conference giant. Tied at 105 all with less than two minutes left in regulation, the Pacers went on a 9-0 tear and never looked back as the Celtics struggled to find the bottom of the net in the closing minutes.

In the win, Buddy Hield contributed 21 points, capping the win off with a 3-pointer at the buzzer despite the game already decided. It was a statement to the doubters.

In a more serious tone, the eight-year NBA veteran praised Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle and the rest of the coaching staff. ā€œI think it shows that Rick (has been) getting us ready for these games. Rick and the coaching staff, they've prepared us well together every gameā€ he added, also noting how the coaches take each game very seriously.

As the Pacers await their next opponent on Thursday night, there is no doubting now what the young squad can be capable of. They are still unlikely the favorites, but it looks like they've embraced the role of the underdogs.
