The Indiana Pacers had some hard luck this year, as Victor Oladipo was knocked out for the season after suffering a ruptured quadriceps tendon in late January.

The Pacers went on to win 48 games and fought the Boston Celtics admirably in the first round of the playoffs, but they ended up getting swept.

The good news for Indiana is that as long as Oladipo comes back healthy, it should be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference next season. Even better news is that the Pacers will have some money to spend this summer.

Pacers presient Kevin Pritchard is looking for some more offensive weapons to put alongside of Oladipo, saying he is looking for “a guy who can break up a defense,” according to Larra Overton of Fox 59.

Pritchard added that the team will have in the neighborhood of $45 million to spend this offseason, saying that the flexibility allows Indy to be “super aggressive,” per Scott Agness of The Athletic.

Additionally, Pritchard said that the organization seems willing to go into the luxury tax, noting that owner Herbert Simon would say “let's do it” if the Pacers found “the right player,” via Pacers reporter Pat Boylan.

There is a whole lot to digest there, but it definitely seems like Indiana is willing to splurge this summer in order to better its roster. There will be a number of good free agents available, so the Pacers will have a good chance to come away with someone significant so long as one big-name free agent is okay with playing in such a small market.
