The Indiana Pacers were actively exploring the possibility of trading Myles Turner at the NBA trade deadline. A season-ending foot injury put those talks to rest, however, and with it came a significant drop in Turner's perceived trade value. Turner has just one year remaining on his contract in Indiana, so the possibility of the team looking to offload him this summer remains very much in play. Michael Scotto reported the latest rumblings on Turner's value in a trade this offseason, and it's far less than it would have been had he gotten dealt at the deadline.

Scotto indicates that the word around the league is that Turner could fetch a non-lottery first-round pick if dealt by the Pacers this season. The teams linked to Turner have generally stayed the same since the trade deadline, with the Raptors, Hornets, and Mavericks all being among the most heavily connected destinations.

Hornets fans in particular will be intrigued over the potential of a Turner trade, especially after LaMelo Ball's recent comments suggesting the team is a big man away from being a real threat in the East. Turner could very well be the missing piece for Charlotte, should they pursue him at his newly reported value.

Turner featured in 42 games for the Pacers this season, averaging 12.9 points. 7.1 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. He underwent surgery on his injured foot back in what was described as a stress reaction. It's the second season in a row that a foot injury cut Turner's campaign short, and he's featured in a total of just 89 games over the past two years.
