Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo has been one of the hottest names in the rumor mill of late. The two-time All-Star is entering the final year of his current deal, which has prompted a number of teams to inquire about his availability.

One team that has been linked to Oladipo is the reigning Eastern Conference Champs, the Miami Heat. A new report has now emerged as to Oladipo's personal preference between his current team and the Heat.

According to the Miami Herald, the 28-year-old's current priority is to remain in Indiana — under one condition:

A source said Oladipo likes Indiana and would be happy staying there with a big new contract, but that if he were to leave, Miami would be No. 1 on his list.

Rumors have also been swirling about the Pacers offering Victor Oladipo an extension that will keep him in Indiana for the foreseeable future. The caveat is, he just hasn't been the same since he injured his leg during the 2018-19 season.

This has led the front office to think twice about putting a big-money deal on the table. The possibility of trading him in the offseason — while they still can — has also emerged as a legitimate option for the Pacers.

As for Miami's interest, the aforementioned report also states that at this point, the Heat are still taking a wait-and-see approach on Oladipo:

But Heat interest will depend entirely on how he plays next season and Miami’s success in trying to lure a bigger fish.

Oladipo managed just 19 games last season, averaging 14.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists — a far cry from his days as an All-Star.
