Victor Oladipo apparently wants to follow in the footsteps of Kevin Durant. Not in the way of jumping ship to a stronger team but in terms of transforming his image from a harmless, meek player on the court into someone who shows fiercer emotions even if it meant looking villainous.

Oladipo said as much in an appearance on the radio show Hot 97 in New York in which he also promoted his new single titled ‘Song for You’. Per IndyStar.com:

Oladipo expressed frustration with his NBA journey, and that he doesn't want to be “Mr. Nice Guy” anymore.

“I really don't care anymore. That's just my mentality,” he said. “I'm not worried about nothing else but dominating and winning basketball games.

“They're going to have to tie me down and tell me to calm down, because I'm on 1,000, every day.”

He added: “You have no control over anything, and you wan't to be the nice guy … I'm just tired of being Mr. Nice Guy. I'm ready to make stuff happen.

Victor Oladipo is expected to be one of the main contributors for the Pacers after he was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he merely served as a sidekick to reigning MVP Russell Westbrook. Oladipo averaged 15.9 points on 44.2 percent shooting from the field last season and is projected to be the team’s starting two-guard.

The Pacers took big hits over the summer with the departures of Paul George and Jeff Teague from a team that made the playoffs last season, but Oladipo is hoping Indiana would do just as well with him acting as one of the leaders.

“We plan on going after people, and I plan on leading the way.”
