Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been carted to the locker room after suffering an apparent lower-body injury, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Here’s an image of a visibly frustrated Rodgers being taken out of the field.

Rodgers, who missed a bunch of games last season because of a broken collarbone, was sacked in the second quarter of Sunday’s contest. He staggered to his feet after taking the hit, but crumpled to the field again. Rodgers was immediately taken to the medical afterwards before getting carted off the sidelines and into the dugout.

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Rodgers seemed to have sustained a knee injury, though no official diagnosis has been released as of this writing.

Before he left the game, Aaron Rodgers only had 13 passing yards on 3-of-7 completions, as he had a hard time dealing with the Bears’ relentless defense.

For the meantime, the Packers’ offense will be orchestrated by backup quarterback DeShone Kizer. Green Bay acquired Kizer last March via a trade with the Cleveland Browns.

This is definitely a bad break for the Packers, who entered Sunday’s contest looking to start a bounce-back campaign after missing the playoffs in 2017.

The Packers are hoping that Rodgers’ injury won’t force him to miss multiple games, though, the manner the quarterback was taken out of the game suggest that he suffered something more serious.

Rodgers signed a four-year, $134 million extension deal with Green Bay late last month.
