Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have been on a roll lately, having won each of their last four games. Rodgers is playing some of the best ball of his career, as he has thrown for an astonishing 16 touchdowns against zero interceptions over his last five games played. Rodgers has done this with key weapons Randall Cobb and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in and out of the lineup. On Thursday, Rodgers and the Packers received some good news on the injury front regarding Cobb and Valdes-Scantling.

  • Green Bay Packers receivers Randall Cobb and Marquez Valdes-Scantling returned to practice. Green Bay designated Cobb to return from IR nearly a month after he underwent core muscle surgery; MVS was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Cobb's injury often requires an eight-week recovery, but there's a chance Cobb, who had surgery in early December, could be back for the playoffs, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

This is great news for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who last played on December 19 against the Baltimore Ravens, was activated from the reserve/COVID list and returned to practice.

Valdes-Scantling will rejoin Rodgers' collection of pass-catchers in Week 17 against the Vikings. Meanwhile, Packers wideout Randall Cobb, who had surgery to repair a core muscle injury, also returned to practice.

As reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Cobb's injury generally requires an eight-week window for recovery, so the Packers could take it slow with the veteran. The big news here is that Rodgers could have a full stable of weapons when the playoffs roll around.

While Cobb and Valdes-Scantling aren't huge playmakers, they still rank second and third on the team in receiving yards. They also help to keep defenses honest when they double-team star wideout Davante Adams.

No doubt about it, the potential returns of receivers Randall Cobb and Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a huge development for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
