The Green Bay Packers loaded up on cornerbacks during the draft as they took two-Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson-with their first two picks. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has gotten the chance to go against the two rookies during organized team activities, and he’s liked what he’s seen thus far from both.

“They’re talented guys,” Rodgers said per Ryan Wood of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “They’re different players. Obviously, Jaire is extremely athletic, and Josh is more of kind of an instincts guy, but they’re talented guys. Corner is going to be a really interesting position. I think that position went from a need to a strength.”

Rodgers has come right after the young corners during workouts, and they have held their own. Alexander, in particular, has already picked off the two-time MVP.

But aside from what they’ve shown with their play, Rodgers has also been impressed with what he’s heard from the two rookies, who haven’t been afraid to talk “a lot” to the superstar QB. Rodgers likes the swagger and confidence the two rookies have displayed by not backing down from him.

Even though they’re just rookies, Alexander and Jackson will likely play key roles this year in a reconstructed Packers cornerback depth chart which also added veteran Tramon Williams this offseason. Last year’s second-round pick Kevin King and Davon House should also figure significantly into the rotation.

The Packers will be expecting big things from their top two picks to help out their pass defense which was one of the team's big weak links last season. But if they can continue to improve by constantly facing off against Rodgers in practice, the Green Bay secondary should be in much better shape.
