When the Green Bay Packers released Jordy Nelson during the NFL offseason, there was one guy who was very upset by the move, Aaron Rodgers. When Rodgers became the starting quarterback in 2008, he and Nelson quickly become an unstoppable duo, and many were shocked when the Packers decided to move on from Nelson.

The Packers will meet the Oakland Raiders, Nelson's new team on Friday night and when Rodgers was asked about seeing Nelson again, he said the two still talk regularly.

“I talked to him yesterday. So we still keep in touch a lot,” said Rodgers via The Journal Times. “He’s a fantastic guy and still a dear friend, but it’s time to move on from a football standpoint. The friendship will always remain. But he’s not here. We’ve got a lot of guys we’ve got to get ready to play and get on the same page with. We have to get that next group of guys ready to play. You’ve got to move on.”

Rodgers also joked that Nelson is a changed guy now that he is with the Raiders. When the two were together, they had a pregame routine of playing catch and then spinning a ball in the end zone to see who's ball would spin longer. Rodgers said that Nelson has a new pregame routine so there will be no spinning contest on Friday night.

“He said he has his own pregame routine now, so we can’t play catch before the game. So I’m a little disappointed by that, which means I won’t be spinning any type of football with him in an end zone,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers isn't expected to play during Friday's game but expects a lot of talk between Nelson and all of his former teammates, now on the opposite sideline.
