Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has yet to show signs of slowing down after a good individual showing in the 2020 NFL season. In an Instagram appearance, he claimed that he is eager to attain more success upon entering his 17th campaign in the league next season.

“We have to have something inside us that drives us,” Rodgers said, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “I think there’s a competitive drive for excellence that every successful person has, and success to me isn’t about money or status. Success is about doing your absolute best and being comfortable looking in the mirror, going to sleep at night knowing you did your absolute best. That’s true success.”

Prior to the 2020 season, Rodgers received a ton of criticism after the Packers opted to draft rookie gunslinger Jordan Love with the 26th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Talking heads were already calling for Rodgers' retirement as the team is looking to transition to a younger quarterback at the helm.

Despite the noise, the nine-time Pro Bowler still buckled down as he led the Packers to a stellar showing in the regular season with a 13-3 record. After gaining the top spot in the NFC, the Packers had a first-round bye and won against the Los Angeles Rams on a 32-18 victory in the second round of the playoffs.

The team's campaign was stopped in its tracks after they encountered the eventual-Super Bowl LV champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers which led to a 31-26 defeat on their home turf. Despite the failed title run, Rodgers still received his roses as he garnered the third MVP honor of his career.

Rodgers' individual showing may not have successfully translated to team success but his determination to do better next season should already bring sufficient hope for the Packers. Hopefully, Aaron Rodgers will be able to stay true to his words as he aims to lead his team back to the promised land in 2021.
