Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Randall Cobb had good reason to be confident going into their 2018 NFL season opener versus the Chicago Bears. However, Chicago's addition of defensive end Khalil Mack has made them think twice about the matchup.

The Mack trade sent shock waves across the NFL. According to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Cobb is not looking forward to playing against him twice a year in the NFC North division:

“Dang, man,” Cobb said. “Gotta see him twice a year now.”

Rodgers added that Mack's arrival has shaken up the matchup between these two storied rivals.

“That’s a really good player in his prime,” Rodgers said. “They obviously gave up some picks, but it just adds to the rivalry now that we get to see him twice a year.”

Needless to say, there is plenty of truth to Rodgers' comments. Chicago had been in desperate need of a formidable pass-rusher and they got arguably the best one in the NFL.  The former Defensive Player of the Year is coming off another stellar season with the Oakland Raiders. However, their indifference toward making him the highest-paid defensive player in the league ultimately resulted in a trade with the Bears.

Perhaps even more painful is that fact that Green Bay had reportedly been in the running for Mack's services as well. Rather than getting to watch him work every Sunday, Rodgers will have to find a way to avoid him twice a year moving forward. Fortunately, the Packers will have the home-field advantage this time around.
