With Stephon Gilmore getting released by the New England Patriots on Wednesday, the suitors are already lining up. Count Davante Adams of the Green Bay Packers as one of those doing his part.

Adams commented on Gilmore's Instagram post with two words: “call me.”

The Packers and Gilmore make a ton of sense for many reasons.

First off, Green Bay still hasn't provided an update on Jaire Alexander's shoulder injury that he suffered in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers are already without Kevin King at corner and if Alexander misses any time, that room would get really thin from a depth perspective.

Secondly, the idea of pairing Gilmore and Alexander along with rookie Eric Stokes would be the “all-in” move that Packers fans would want to see from the front office in a year where the goal is Super Bowl or bust.

Plenty of other contenders will be lining up at the door and don't be surprised to see teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter the chat as well.

For the Packers, this isn't typically the type of in-season move they make and because it makes all the sense in the world, it likely won't happen.

One thing that is certain is that Davante Adams is doing his part in trying to recruit Gilmore to the Packers.
