The Green Bay Packers will be throwing it back again this season. According to an announcement by the team on Thursday, the Packers will wear their blue-and-gold jerseys in Week 3 this year.

This will be the fifth straight season that they wear the jerseys, going 2-2 in their previous four matchups.

The Packers will wear the blue-and-gold at home (Lambeau Field) against the Denver Broncos.

These jerseys are major throwbacks. They were used by the Packers from 1937-1948. In that time, the team won two championships.

Green Bay won their first ever game wearing these throwbacks back in 2015. They lost the previous two years, but won again last year. That means if they win their Week 3 matchup this season, not only will they be over .500 (3-2) – but they'll have their first ever “winning streak” with the throwbacks.

The Denver Broncos should be an interesting matchup. They now have a veteran quarterback in Joe Flacoo who has proven he can win games – with a rookie in Drew Lock behind him. Phillip Lindsay is an extremely entertaining back and the receivers could pull out some surprises.

However, it's the defense that is most exciting. A strong defense going up against future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is always something people will want to see. Who gets the better of the exchange?

That will remain to be seen. In fact, we really can't be certain of anything about the Week 3 matchup as it's still so far away. Anything can change. The only thing we do seem to know for certain is the jerseys that the Green Bay Packers will be wearing.
