Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is rehabbing from shoulder surgery and he says the process is going unbelievable and he is feeling great right now.

Newton said that he feels like he has gotten all of the strength back in his shoulder but he knows that it might be a while before he is fully cleared.

“I'm feeling great now,” Newton told ESPN in an interview from “Fellaship,” his Atlanta-based cigar bar/restaurant that held its grand opening this past weekend via David Newton of ESPN. “I feel like I do have full strength right now. But me telling the doctor, that is different than, you know, whatever the clearance process may be.”

Newton struggled to make throws down the field last year because of his shoulder injury and he knows the most important thing in the rehab process is to just be honest. When talking with the trainers if his shoulder hurts he knows he needs to be honest with them.

“Just the rehab process,” he said. “…Being honest, that's one of the main things on both sides. Not only with the training staff to me, but me with training staff, me letting them know how my body feels, coming up with a plan for practice to being on a pitch count, do I even need a pitch count, and staying on top of the signs before things kind of roll off the hinges.”

Newton has also started a vegan diet and hired a personal training to try and get his body into the best shape of his career.

It appears that everything is on track for Newton to have another successful and healthy season in the upcoming season.
