Through the first several weeks of his rookie campaign, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been sparsely used by the team in unique situations on the field. Despite his limited action, it hasn't deterred him from making a strong impression around the league, as Carolina Panthers Pro Bowl quarterback Cam Newton has voiced much praise toward Jackson ahead of Week 8 action between both teams, according to Herbie Teope of NFL.com.

“He's got a little bit more life in his legs than I do, a little bit more wiggle,” Newton said, via the Panthers' official website. “I'll be trying to take some notes out of his book, just anybody. Not just him, a lot of other quarterbacks in this league.

“Very, very, very exceptional talent Lamar is. I've been watching him for a long time.”

It is quite clear that Cam Newton has admired the talent that Jackson has as a dual-threat quarterback. He has breakaway speed with his legs, and a strong arm. He has plenty of development to undergo with his throwing ability to fine tune his mechanics, but there is plenty of potential there to become something special in the NFL.

Lamar Jackson has already shown that he can impact the game greatly with his legs as he has recorded 103 rushing yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. He had his first career touchdown in last Sunday's 24-23 loss to the New Orleans Saints on a one-yard run. Jackson has a unique skill set that should get him on the field at some point in time down the line once the Ravens decide to move on from Joe Flacco.

Until then, he will continue to serve as his backup and while taking the field in special packages that primarily utilize his running ability. At some point, he will get the chance to showcase his promising talent in a much greater capacity.
