The Carolina Panthers have come to terms with wide receiver D.J. Moore on a three-year, $61.88 million extension deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Moore will receive $41.61 million in guaranteed money, and he is now under contract with the Panthers for four total seasons.

Moore’s long-term future with the Panthers was much in question heading into the offseason, as he was slated to become an unrestricted free agent next year. He played in the 2021 campaign on the fourth year of his rookie deal, and as he was a first-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, the team opted to exercise the fifth-year option in his contract last April.

As Schefter further notes, Moore is now tied to the Panthers up until the 2025 season for $73 million. More so, the average annual value on this extension is set at $20.6 million, which ranks third among wideouts in the NFL today behind Davante Adams ($28.25 million) and DeAndre Hopkins ($27.2 million).

Moore featured in all 17 regular season games this past year and notched 1,100-plus receiving yards for the third straight campaign. He posted a career-high in receptions (93) and recorded exactly four receiving touchdowns for the third consecutive year.

Even as he dealt with a nagging hamstring injury over the course of the year, he did not miss a single game in the season, as he emerged as a go-to target for both Sam Darnold and Cam Newton.

The Panthers head into the 2022 campaign with Moore and Robby Anderson leading the way at the wide receiver position, while free agent signing Rashard Higgins is expected to compete to be the team’s No. 3 wideout on the depth chart.
