Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey suffered a scare when he flipped into the end zone against the Jacksonville Jaguars and came down hard on his back.

McCaffrey said it hurt when he hit the ground, but he has been able to practice and feels like he is ready to play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London.

“I landed on my back pretty hard, but I feel fine,” McCaffrey said via the Panthers' team website. “I could have practiced yesterday, could have practiced the day after the game. Feeling really good, so yeah.”

It is good news that McCaffrey is feeling good because he is the focal point of the Panthers offense and they would have a very hard time moving the ball without him. In five games he has rushed 105 times for 587 yards and six touchdowns. He has also caught 31 passes for 279 yards, and a touchdown.

Panthers backup running back Reggie Bonnafon only has seven carries for 85 yards and a touchdown. Even with McCaffrey looking like he will be able to go, it probably wouldn't be the worst thing if the Panthers started to give more carries to Bonnafon to take some of the pressure off McCaffrey.

With the Panthers in London McCaffrey was asked if he would be doing a lot of sightseeing. He said he would do some but this is a business trip and he is trying to focus on winning the game on Sunday.

“We’re here on a business trip to win a game,” McCaffrey said. “For me, it’s just about getting ready.”
