Star running back Christian McCaffrey has done a lot of amazing things for the Carolina Panthers. Most of these were obviously with the football in his hands.

But surprisingly, he's been doing his best work for Carolina away from the gridiron recently.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Christian McCaffrey and his teammate Shaq Thompson are launching an initiative called 22 Together.

The pair's initiative will be in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Charlotte and the Charlotte-Mecklenberg Police Department's Police Activities League.

Its goal is to empower underserved youth in the Charlotte community by sponsoring various sports programs in the area:

“Sports have always been an important place for mentorship, support, and growth for me,” McCaffrey said in his message for the program. “By teaming up with Shaq and our partners, we hope that this is one small step toward better unifying our community and setting a promising path forward for our youth. When we come together on a field of play, it helps unite us everywhere else.”

Acts of service to the community are nothing new to Christian McCaffrey. In April he launched his 22 and You program which aims to provide support to Carolina's health care workers.

On Twitter, McCaffrey announced his partnership with Lowe's Home Improvement and Bose in raising funds for the cause. He also called out to the public to donate to the program, with a promise that he would match the total dollar for dollar:

“I am personally matching the commitment of these great companies and encourage people to donate whatever (they) can,” said the Panthers' star.

The funds raised would be directed to the NC Healthcare Foundation and South Carolina Hospital Association Foundation.

It's become increasingly clear that Carolina has their stud on and off the field.
