Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is one of the more recognizable football players in the league with his pads on, but off the field, not many people take notice when he's in public.

In a question and answer segment with Joseph Person of The Athletic, McCaffrey said that when he is out in public, he isn't noticed as much as people might think.

“Nah. I don’t get recognized as much as people think. In Charlotte some, but most places I go I look like — I’m still that kid walking through the streets. I don’t stick out a whole lot.”

McCaffrey said one of the reasons he doesn't think people notice him is because he isn't as tall, so he doesn't get noticed as much as players like Cam Newton and Greg Olsen.

“Well, Cam. Like most of the taller guys who’ve been in the league. If you’re tall, you stick out a little bit. Luke gets noticed all the time. Greg. Cam. The guys that obviously have stardom-ness. If I’m ever with one of them, they’ll get noticed and then they’ll just kind of do deductive reasoning and be like, ‘Oh, that might be McCaffrey.’”

Although McCaffrey might not get noticed on the streets, people take notice when he is on the football field.

Last season, McCaffrey rushed for 1,098 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught 107 passes for 867 yards and six touchdowns.

The expectation this season and going forward is that McCaffrey will continue to take steps forward and maybe someday he will be recognizable on the streets too.
