The Carolina Panthers managed to get back to .500 on their win-loss record after they managed to edge out the Houston Texans in a close contest. Panthers QB Kyle Allen was an asset in the team's success at NRG Stadium.

He wasn't able to notch a passing touchdown in four quarters of play. He made up for it with 24 completed passes and 232 passing yards to get the team in winning positions.

However, he didn't get a 100-plus QB rating due to the costly turnovers he cost. He fumbled the ball three times throughout the game, giving the Texans a chance to get back in the game. It also reflected in the final score how dangerous his fumbles were.

Of course, Allen didn't mean to cause all of those fumbles. He spoke up about his fumble issue and admitted that he has been careless about it.

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio recorded his side of the story:

“It just something I have to focus on,” Allen told PFT by phone after the 13-10 victory over the Texans in Houston. “When I scramble, I need to keep two hands on the ball.”

Allen scoffed at the notion that his hand size (9-3/8th inches) is an issue in the fumbling.

“It has nothing to do with hand size,” Allen said, pointing out that quarterbacks with large hands and small hands fumble. “I just have to be conscious about it.”

Allen has performed well this season, notching 493 passing yards and four TDs in only two starts. He's already gone past the stats he incurred during his rookie year.

Panthers fans hope that he'll live up to his word and avoid committing fumbles in the future.
