Former Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera had nothing but praise for his players after being fired, but singled out Greg Olsen and Eric Reid. When he talked about helping young men he said he knows that Olsen and Reid are going to make the world a better place.

Olsen has been very involved in charity work, mostly involving children with heart defects. In 2017, with the help of the Greg Olsen Foundation, he donated $750k to help fund a cardiac neurodevelopmental program.

At The HEARTest Yard, we continually think bigger. The status quo is never enough because we have lives at stake,” Greg Olsen said via WCNC. “While a few years ago we kicked off the program helping infants, our foundation is growing just like our heart babies. We’re dedicated to helping them over the course of their life. We see tremendous value in the expansion of The HEARTest Yard. That’s why we’ve already gifted $750,000 to kick start the funding for the cardiac neurodevelopmental program and we look forward to raising the millions more needed to establish and build this program into one of the nation's best.”

Eric Reid has been very outspoken about numerous issues and was one of Colin Kaepernick's teammates who took a knee in support. It took a while for Reid to get a job after kneeling, but Rivera and the Panthers decided to bring him in and he's been a great asset for the team.

With Rivera being let go, Perry Fewell will take over the head coaching duties in an interim role.
