The New England Patriots have a defense that has rivaled many of the great defenses of all-time, and the Kansas City Chiefs know who is responsible for their success. While it's unofficial, Andy Reid believes that Bill Belichick is New England's defensive coordinator.

During the offseason, the Patriots lost Brian Flores, their defensive play-caller during the 2018 season, as he became the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. Due to his departure, many wondered who was going to assume the role of calling plays and whether or not New England would hire a defensive coordinator.

Instead of hiring someone, the Patriots have kept it a mystery on who is relaying the plays in. At the same time, Bill's son, Steve Belichick has a play sheet and is seemingly communicating with the defense.

However, we all know that Bill has his hands on the defense as well. Reid was very complimentary when talking about the job that Belichick has done with the Patriots' daunting defense.

Pery Henry McKenna in Chiefs Wire:

“He does a good job,” Reid said. “You’re talking about the best in the business, and he’s doing a heck of a job. I’m sure he’s enjoying it. You get to our age — it’s one of the fun things you get to do.”

Of course, Reid handles the play-calling duties on the offensive side of the ball for the Chiefs. Therefore, he knows it is going to be a challenge to outwit arguably the greatest coach in NFL history on Sunday.

In addition, Reid understands that Patrick Mahomes will have to continue improving his ability to read defenses. Regardless of who is calling plays for New England, the rematch of last year's AFC Championship Game will likely come down to the Patriots' stingy defense against the Chiefs' high-flying offense.
