Cam Newton wants everyone to know that he doesn't harbor any hate towards the New England Patriots for the team's decision to bring another quarterback over by taking Mac Jones via the 2021 NFL Draft. Newton made that especially clear with a truthful response on the matter during a recent appearance on ESPN's Keyshawn, JWill and Zubin.

“I've been playing this game long enough to know that that's the right pick and I've said it numerous and numerous times that, you know, what you're not gonna get out of me is a disgruntled person. You know, Mac and Cheese is a person, ever since I've seen him came into the locker room with a business approach,  doing the initiatives of learning his teammates, understanding that ‘I got to raise the level of my play from the collegiate level to the professional level,' and I'm here for him and as well as he is for me.”

In any case, the quarterback battle this offseason between Cam Newton and Mac Jones will be one of the most intriguing storylines for the Patriots.  As the veteran, Newton likely has the advantage, but Jones can make things interesting as we get closer to Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season. Newton wants to prove that there's enough juice in his legs to propel a team's offense, and he's got an entire season to try while looking over his shoulder. He signed a one-year deal with the Patriots in March.
