Over the past year or so, there's been a lot of talk about what the future holds for superstar quarterback Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. Despite turning 40 last August, Brady wants to play as long as he can in the NFL and is significant other, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, was thought to want him to do the opposite.

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Bundchen has seemingly changed her tune on when she'd like her husband to end his playing career. Brady's wife is content with him making the decision on when to walk away from the game, via CBS Sports.

“It's not my decision to make,” Gisele said. “It's his decision, and he knows it. It wouldn't be fair any other way.”

It seems as though the celebrity couple has come to a compromise about his NFL career with the five-time Super Bowl champion no longer being pressured to retire.

“He's so focused right now,” Gisele said. “He has a laser focus on just winning and being the best, and I said, ‘You know what? This is what you're doing right now in your life, and you need to feel complete in it, because if I'm the one who comes and says something and then you make a decision based on something that I said …'”

Although Bundchen has thrown in the towel for now in her attempts to get her husband to end his playing career, the question for Brady moving forward is whether his body will hold up in the years to come. So far, he's shown no signs of slowing down making many believe he can hang them up when he chooses to, but it is a dangerous game he plays and one serious injury could change the thought process for the Brady family.

As for the Patriots, the storied franchise may be starting to consider bringing in what could be Brady's successor. New England is rumored to be thinking about taking a quarterback in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft and that might be the smartest move they can make to help secure their future at the position with Jimmy Garoppolo now a starter for the San Francisco 49ers and Jacoby Brissett being Andrew Luck's backup with the Indianapolis Colts.
