The New England Patriots are the position to once again to move into the playoffs with yet another first-round playoff bye on track to possibly make a run at the Super Bowl.

However, things haven't exactly been crisp offensively with bumps along the way that have prevented them from truly taking off. This is something that veteran wide receiver Julian Edelman has addressed stating that the team isn't where they want to be on that side of the ball at this point of the season, according to Ryan Hannable of WEEI.

“I mean, you’re always trying to improve,” he said Thursday. “You can always be better, but the more and more we play together each week you’re building on your foundation. I wouldn’t say we are where we want to be, but we’re trusting in the process of going out and working hard each day in practice and trying to improve to see where that brings us.”

The Patriots have had some struggles offensively over the last couple of weeks that had seen them drop two out of their last four games. Granted, Sunday's 34-33 loss came on a last-second double lateral play; it does show that the team has room for improvement on that side of the ball.

At that same token, there have also been questions about the play of star quarterback Tom Brady that has seen him experience some difficulty at times. This has begun the chatter around him that he has possibly begun the decline process in his 19th campaign in the league. Brady has been able to remarkably stay performing at such a high level throughout his illustrious career that this talk hasn't truly taken off.

Ultimately, this is the time of the season where Edelman and the Patriots realize that the team needs to buckle down and play their best football heading into the playoffs.
