Early on in New England Patriots training camp, quarterback Mac Jones is looking like a completely different person after putting a focus on losing weight this offseason. The signal-caller looks extremely fit, which is only going to help him play even better in Year 2.

Jones recently spoke about the matter and revealed that he's made “significant strides” after making a major change in his eating habits.

Via Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston:

“I made significant strides,” he said. “Fixing my body, feeling comfortable, feeling healthier and better. At the end of the day, you’re still a human and you want to eat what you want to eat, but you have to be disciplined.”

Mac Jones saw a photo of him with a cigar go viral after winning a national championship with Alabama. The QB was shirtless and evidently had a bit of a gut. That stomach is completely gone now and it's clearly because he started to have serious discipline.

Jones was decent in his rookie year, throwing for 3,801 yards and 22 touchdowns. While he did get picked off 12 times, Jones had a 67.6 completion percentage. The fact that he's going to have more mobility in the pocket should play a huge part in his production.

Mac Jones did take the Pats back to the playoffs and is evidently the quarterback of the future. While he has big shoes to fill, the ex-Crimson Tide standout realized he had to get in better shape in order to play his best football. This is a good sign for Patriots fans.
