The New England Patriots have looked great so far in the preseason. However, the front office faces a tough situation after N'Keal Harry fell to injury. According to Ian Rapoport, Harry injured his shoulder which will keep him out for several weeks. He's on the tail end of the depth chart amongst the wide receiver group, but Harry's injury creates a conundrum for the Patriots.

N'Keal Harry is ruled out for four weeks. Typically this wouldn't be that big of a deal, however, as Rapoport explains, Harry requested a trade earlier in the offseason. The timing of this injury is not ideal, as the Patriots were likely looking to honor Harry's trade request in the coming weeks. Any NFL teams interested in Harry might be unwilling to make a deal with New England if he's injured.

It's possible the Patriots' front office was hoping to trade Harry to acquire a future draft pick. That would have removed him from the roster and counted towards the cut down of the roster when the coaching staff dwindles the team down to 53 players. Now, New England can't rely on that trade and must make a different decision with the third-year wide receiver.

We'll see how it plays out, as this puts the Patriots in an odd situation. Harry N'Keal has been less than impressive throughout his career so far. He enters the 2021 season with just 45 receptions, 414 yards, and four touchdowns. Harry believes a new team can help him elevate his game, which could be true. He'll have to wait for that opportunity though, as his injury hinders his trade opportunities for now.
