The New England Patriots were unable to shore up some firepower in the receiving corps through free agency. It seems they are hoping that wide receiver N'Keal Harry is among those that can pick up the slack in the 2020 NFL season.

Harry struggled to fit the billing as a first-round pick during his rookie year, and there is now plenty of speculation regarding whether or not the Patriots botched another receiver pick through the draft. He took to Twitter with a message for those that doubt his potential:

It is encouraging to see that Harry appears to be as confident as ever despite his struggles. Of course, the onus will now fall on him to show that he is capable of serving as the No. 1 option in the passing game.

Harry's career got off to a rough start after an ankle injury during training camp landed him on injured reserve. As a result, he was unable to make his NFL debut until Week 8 and was never truly able to find his footing following an underwhelming rookie campaign that saw him haul in a mere 12 receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns in seven games.

Harry will no longer have the luxury of catching passes from quarterback Tom Brady following his departure in free agency. Regardless, it is safe to assume head coach Bill Belichick will give him as many chances as possible in order to step up as the focal point of the passing game no matter who the starting quarterback is.
