Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are headed to another Super Bowl, and it came at the expense of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Pats took care of business on the road on Sunday and defeated the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in overtime, 37-31, in the AFC Championship Game.

It does not take one to be a psychologist to know that the Chiefs are left heartbroken by what just transpired. Apart from having home-field advantage, the Chiefs also looked primed to complete a come-from-behind victory, as they had a four-point lead with a little over two minutes in regulation only for Rex Burkhead to play the hero for the Patriots and deliver the victory for New England.

Following the game and after he did interviews on the field, Brady reportedly visited Mahomes in the locker room, perhaps to console the young quarterback and encourage him, per Jeff Darlington of ESPN.

Tom Brady just quietly approached a security guard waiting outside the Chiefs’ locker room — and asked if he could see Patrick Mahomes. Brady was escorted into a room where he spoke briefly with him. A very clear display of respect from one incredible quarterback to another.

Sunday's loss also marked the second time the Chiefs fell prey to New England, as they also took a 43-40 loss in Foxborough back in Week 6.

In the conference title game, Brady passed for 348 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions on 30-of-46 completions, while Mahomes went 16-of-31, finishing with 295 passing yards and three touchdowns with zero picks thrown.

The future is still very bright for Mahomes, who is expected to have plenty of chances to make it to the Super Bowl. He's also projected to take home this season's MVP honors, which should be a nice piece of memorabilia for his outstanding breakout season.
