With the 2020 NFL season in full swing, the league has suffered multiple setbacks amid the coronavirus pandemic as players continue to pop on the COVID-19/Reserve list. It appears the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders are the latest teams to suffer casualties.

The Raiders were forced to add defensive tackle Maurice Hurst to the list heading into Week 5, per ESPN's Adam Schefter:

ESPN's Field Yates reports that the Patriots have also placed defensive tackle Bill Murray on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

The update certainly carries some significance for Hurst since he had been diagnosed with a heart condition coming out of college during the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. This could very well make him a high-risk patient and it will be something for the Raiders' medical staff to monitor.

Some have speculated whether Hurst may or may not have contracted the virus during the fundraising event hosted by tight end Darren Waller that saw players and the team get fined for not abiding by the safety protocols. However, reports have since confirmed that he was not in attendance.

The NFL was forced to postpone the Week 4 matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4 until Oct. 25 after multiple players tested positive for coronavirus. This spurred commissioner Roger Goodell to send out a warning to teams regarding potential forfeits for violations of protocols that result in changes to the schedule.

Regardless, there remains concern regarding the NFL's inability to enforce the restrictions in place both on and off the field.
