New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady claims he will never criticize his offensive line. Not because he is above doing so, but he believes it is his job to get smacked around.

Wait … what?

Yes. In a truly roundabout way, Tom Brady says he's fine with getting sacked because it is all just part of the gig.

“I think those guys do a great job,” Brady said, per Mike Petraglia of WEEI. “Our line, I have as much confidence in them as I ever have. Some of those looks are unblockable looks at the end of the day and the quarterback is responsible for them, too. Getting hit is part of the position. You’re standing back there and we’re trying to defend a spot so we can throw the ball and it requires a lot of timing in the passing game, receivers getting open at the right times and obviously you’re trying to get certain looks in the pass coverage. Just getting hit is part of playing quarterback but I think our guys are doing a great job.”

It isn't lost on Touchdown Tom as to how hard of a job those guys have.

“It’s an incredibly difficult job,” Brady continued. “There’s five of them. They need to coordinate everything up front. There’s a lot of different rush packages that you get and you’re facing some of the best athletes in the world and you’re always on the defense as an offensive lineman. At the end of the day you’re always going backwards. Our guys do a great job keeping their poise and I think they’re so well coached and they take it to heart. They take the coaching to heart. They play together, they do everything together and they’re just a great group. I think those guys are doing a hell of a job and I love all those guys. They do a great job working hard for our offense and it all starts with them in the run game, the pass game. You really can’t do anything if those guys aren’t playing as well as they’re playing.”

If nothing else, Brady is making sure his offensive line realizes how much he appreciates them.
