The New England Patriots are still in position to potentially secure the top seed in the AFC Playoffs. However, it appears quarterback Tom Brady is focused on taking care of the AFC East Division first.

The Patriots have a chance to secure the division in Week 15. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Brady is not paying attention to claiming the top seed right now:

“I think we just worry about honestly what we can control and that’s it,” Brady said. “It’s just us playing and whatever happens, happens. Coach [Bill Belichick] has always said it’s not where we play, it’s how we play. We’ve just got to take care of business on our end. This is a big one, this is a tough one and we’re going to have to play really well.”

Brady's comments are certainly understandable. Before they get potentially earn the No. 1 seed in the conference, they must first find a way to win out. Fortunately, the Los Angeles Chargers victory over the Kansas City Chiefs has left New England with a strand of hope.

It is no secret that this is familiar territory for New England. They have enjoyed similar success for nearly the last two decades. Brady and head coach Bill Belichick know full well how to put the finishing touches on a promising season. Unfortunately, they will face a stiff test in the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.

Although the Patriots have owned the Steelers' number in recent years, they are still not a team to take lightly. Pittsburgh is in a must-win situation which means they will likely be pulling out every trick in the book to secure a victory.
