There have been a lot of questions surrounding New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's future in the northeast. Tom Brady Sr. was asked about his son's future with the Patriots and gave an interesting response, saying that Brady's future was in the hands of Bill Belichick.

“You know, I don’t know,” Brady Sr. told Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald as to whether Tom Jr. will be back in 2020. “It’s hard for me to envision him playing somewhere else. He wants to play. But ultimately, it’s Bill’s decision. Nobody really knows. Bill doesn’t tip his hand. There’s just been insinuations here and there. This is really kind of between those two. They got to decide what they want.”

Brady's dad did make clear that if Belichick does decide to go in a different direction that doesn't necessarily mean that Brady's career is going to be over.

“If Bill says he doesn’t want Tommy, and Tommy wants to play, well, Joe Montana went to Kansas City,” Brady Sr. said. “”Just because Bill decides he wants to move on, that won’t dictate Tommy’s future. I’m sure there are a few other teams in the league that would want him.”

Brady Sr. did say that he was just speculating and he didn't know for sure what Tom was thinking, but these are some compelling comments. If Brady really doesn't have an idea what his coach is thinking about his future, maybe the two guys aren't as close as people have thought over the years.
