It's been more than two years since we saw Pau Gasol on the basketball court. Well, he's back.

Pau Gasol recently re-signed with his boyhood club, FC Barcelona of the Liga ACB in Spain. He made his debut on Friday and it did not take long before he opened his account (h/t Dionysis Aravantinos of HoopsHype):

It was actually Pau Gasol who opened the scoring for Barcelona as they took on German outfit Bayern Munich in the EuroLeague. The 40-year-old got the nod to start the game, but he managed just 13 minutes of action on the evening. Gasol finished the contest with nine points, four rebounds, and an assist as Barcelona fell to Bayern, 82-72.
The last time we saw Pau Gasol in the NBA was during the 2018-19 season. The six-time All-Star played just three games for the Milwaukee Bucks before being waived by the team.
There was some talk of Gasol possibly returning to the NBA last year in an emotional reunion with the Los Angeles Lakers. The two-time NBA champion himself indicated that he wanted to retire as a Laker, but in the end, nothing came to fruition. Gasol won both of his championships with the Lakers in back-to-back years in2009 and 2010. Signing with Barcelona was the next best thing for the 7-foot big man as he takes on a swansong on what has been a memorable professional career.
