The gravity of Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets has triggered fans, critics, and players alike to question every whistle by the referees. DeMarcus Cousins of the New Orleans Pelicans, who's out probably watching at home, fired shots at the officials via a tweet.
The Pelicans star forward tweeted:
It's unclear what play Cousins is referring to. It may have been the apparent illegal screen by Jordan Bell which freed up Stephen Curry for the wide-open three but it could have easily been some other missed call.
Cousins' tweet was met with teasing replies by the fans. Some pointed to his antics on the court. After all, Cousins is known for complaining at almost every call during games. This has led him to receive several technical fouls.
Last season, he only played 48 games but received nine technical fouls. This placed him in 14th place among players who received the most technical fouls last season. Dwight Howard of the Charlotte Hornets was first with 17 technical fouls.
On and off the court, Cousins seems determined to tick off the referees. If he was somewhere in the stands, he would have received a technical foul. Good thing he was discreet with his tweet. Otherwise, the NBA would've hunted him down.
