The New Orleans Pelicans are in the midst of a brutal stretch where they play five games in six days. That said, it will be very important for them to win as many games as they can, as it could affect their standing in the Western Conference, especially with a number of teams vying for one of the last berths.

To fire up the Pelicans to continue playing well despite the number of games they are slated to compete in the coming days, they are continuing to find ways to raise the players' morale, and are giving the fans a chance to get more involved with their beloved team.

During Sunday's matchup against the Boston Celtics, two barbers were set up near the entrance of section 101 inside Smoothie King Center, encouraging those who have beards to have them shaved, in order to show support for Anthony Davis, who is in thick of the conversation for this year's MVP Award, along with “The Beard” James Harden. The promotion will also reward those who will have their beards shaved with a shirt with “#AD4MVP” on it.

This goes to show that the fans are willing to join the promotion to prove that they will do anything to show their support for their one of their own. Even without DeMarcus Cousins, who ruptured his Achilles earlier this season, the Pelicans have continued to play well, and have been able to string a lot of wins together.

They are currently in sixth place in the Western Conference, and if everything goes according to plan, will be able to see postseason action for the first time in three years. It will also strengthen Davis' case to be named MVP, although Harden is still considered as the heavy favorite to take home the trophy.
