While the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics have engaged the New Orleans Pelicans in trade talks for Anthony Davis and both have the assets to get a deal done, the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers have not gained in any traction in trade discussions, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Nets and Clippers both have cap room this summer and are both expected to be major players in the trade market, but neither team has the overall assets that the Lakers and Celtics have.
While the Clippers have some young talent in the form of players such as Montrezl Harrell, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson, they simply don't have the draft picks to entice the Pelicans, as Boston actually owns their first-round pick this year.
Meanwhile, the Nets don't even have a whole lot of intriguing pieces to include in a trade in general, as D'Angelo Russell, their top chip, is a restricted free agent this summer.

Brooklyn and the Clips always seemed like long-shot destinations for Davis to begin with, so this does not come as much of a surprise.
Davis asked out of New Orleans back in January, but the Pelicans did not deal him before the trade deadline and decided to punt to the offseason where they could field more offers.
It's looking like Davis will wind up with either the Lakers or the Celtics fairly soon.
