New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has been dealing with pain after undergoing foot surgery. With his recovery not exactly going to plan, the big man has just had another special procedure to help with the pain:

That being said, the Pelicans phenom will be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks, per Shams Charania:

Definitely not ideal for Zion or the Pelicans, but something had to be done to help his rehab. There were pictures circling around social media of Williamson looking very overweight as well. That definitely wouldn't help his foot heal at a proper rate.
Even after this latest operation, it's frankly unknown if Williamson will play at all this season. But, the Pelicans do remain optimistic that he could see the floor again at some point before the campaign ends.
Zion has shown superstar potential when he's actually been healthy. The problem is, the former Duke standout has spent more time injured than actually playing. He featured in just 81 games across his first two seasons in the Association, averaging 25.7 points and seven rebounds.
Hopefully, this latest move can speed up the healing of his foot and get him back on track because the Pelicans certainly need him as they sit rock-bottom in the Western Conference with an atrocious 9-21 record.
