Monty Williams and the Detroit Pistons' season has gone south. The team had one of the longest losing streaks in all of NBA history but it was not the biggest nightmare to strike them. One would think that an absolute decimation would come when they face the Denver Nuggets because the defending champions are facing one of the worst teams in league history. But, that was not the most terrible thing that could happen when Cade Cunningham's squad went up against Nikola Jokic.

The Pistons have confirmed that Cade Cunningham will be out for the remainder of the Nuggets game. He suffered a left knee strain and will be evaluated further, per Marc Stein.

Prior to going down with the injury, Cunningham played 11 minutes for Monty Williams. He was all around the court for the Pistons and was doing his best to keep the team afloat. He notched three points along with three assists as he was on floor general duties. To round out his night, he grabbed three boards.

Other Pistons are stepping up to prevent Nikola Jokic's team from pulling away. Jalen Duren currently has 13 points and dropped two dimes. This along with his four rebounds has been a great help. Alec Burks and Kevin Knox combined for 21 points off the bench to give the Pistons a scoring boost.

There are still two quarters to play. Hopefully, this injury does not set the Pistons back by a large margin. Will they keep it a close game against the Nuggets?
