There is standing up for your teammates and then there is just making crazy claims and that is what Pistons center Andre Drummond is doing.
An Instagram user posted a comment saying “Jaylen Brown is what the Pistons thought Stanely was gonna be lol.”
Drummond agreed to that (kind of) saying “exactly….Stanley is better.”
There is still a chance that Johnson can end up being better than Brown but right now there is no question the better player is the guy with the Boston Celtics.
Johnson was drafted with the 8th pick in the 2015 draft and he was expected to be the next star to be put beside Drummond. Last year with the Pistons, Johnson averaged 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 69 games.
Stan Van Gundy wanted Johnson to be a bigger part of the offense, but he didn't really run the offense in a way that gave Johnson a ton of opportunity to take off. So maybe the big issue was just really just the guy in charge and Dwane Casey is going to be a big boost for his game.
Casey was asked about Johnson and the former Toronto Raptors head coach said he still trusts him he just needs to get his “mojo and his swag” back.

There is no question that Johnson is going to get his chances with the Pistons this year, and that he is going to be made a focal point of the offense by Casey. The question now is will he be able to live up to those expectations and live up to Drummond's words, that he is better than Brown.
