Blake Griffin's arrival in the Motor City hasn't been able to turn the Detroit Pistons' season around as initially expected, as the Pistons have won only nine of their last 22 games since acquiring their new star forward prior to the trade deadline.

Yet this rough patch hasn't discouraged the 29-year-old from pouring it on for his new team.

“We’ve been scrambling with Reggie (Jackson) not being back. That’s unfortunate,” said Griffin, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. “We’ve had some rough stretches, but I really like this team. I wish we were healthy from the get-go.”

The Pistons are six games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the eighth and last place in the Eastern Conference playoff race, yet Griffin is optimistic about what awaits his future with this new organization.

“This summer we will have a chance to really jell, figure stuff out,” said Griffin. “I think the ceiling of this team is very, very high. We have a lot of different guys who can do a lot of different things who can affect the game in a lot of different ways. Getting Reggie back will be huge.”

Jackson's constant injuries could be a reason for concern for this franchise, who have been victim of his instability through the last three seasons, dealing with his nagging tendinitis.

The Pistons will definitely look to build around Griffin and likely will have to pair him with a more-than-decent ball distributor to max out his potential and minimize his isolation plays, which have taken a big dig out of his field goal efficiency.
