If the whole basketball thing doesn't work out, Detroit Pistons' star Cade Cunningham might have a future as a motivational speaker. Cunningham managed to turn a simple question in reference to his NBA 2K23 rating goal into a battle cry for Pistons Nation. And Detroit fans will be hyped up after hearing Cunningham's bold statement.

“I was just telling Ronnie (2K) I'm trying to be a 90 by the end of the year,” Cunningham said. “That's what my goal is. So I put on a show early on in the season, get some momentum with my team, I think we can win some games. That will really help with the 90 goal. So we will see what I got.”

Cade Cunningham understands that his improvement as a player will have a direct correlation on the Pistons success this year. So he is prepared to do whatever it takes to reach that 90 rating.

The 2021 No.1 overall pick averaged 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. He recently revealed that Chris Paul is his favorite player to matchup with in the NBA due to Paul's playmaking ability. Cunningham clearly takes pride in being an all-around player, rather than a pure scorer. So I wouldn't be surprised to see his assist numbers increase next season.

And as a result, his NBA 2K23 rating will increase as well. And although he takes pride in his overall game, Cunningham has the potential to score more than 20 points per contest.

He should be able to surpass his goal of a 90 overall rating in the game.
