The Detroit Pistons keep adding talent to their squad. They took Cade Cunningham with the top pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. The Pistons have also signed NCAA National Player of the Year Luka Garza to a deal after an impressive showing for the Pistons at the Las Vegas Summer League.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the former Iowa standout is inking a two-way deal with the Pistons.

Garza had 20 points with 13 boards and three assists over the weekend for the Pistons and showed off his entire arsenal during his time in Las Vegas. Apparently, it was enough for the Pistons to believe in him after they took him towards the end of the NBA Draft.

Garza was sensational in college, but scouts and analysts feared that his athleticism and overall game weren't going to stick in today's NBA. The Pistons felt differently, took a shot, and now have given him a deal, even if it is a two-way contract.

The young roster in Detroit should give Garza an ample chance to earn minutes when he is on the bench, and if he continues to improve and work on his game, he could end up as one of the biggest steals of the 2021 NBA Draft class.
