Basketball legend Isiah Thomas believes that the Detroit Pistons are treading the right path given their relative success last season and their offseason moves.

Thomas, who was a member of the Bad Boys era of Detroit, complimented the trio of Blake Griffin, Andre Drummond, and Reggie Jackson. He also pointed out that Derrick Rose is a great pick up.

“I do believe they are on the right path,” Thomas said, per Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press. “I just think that if the team can keep progressing, they’ll regain those values, the culture in terms of who the Pistons are, understanding what it means to basketball.”

Thomas actually spent two days in training camp interacting with the players and coaches. He shared some of the things they did in the past which can still be utilized effectively today. Thomas is a symbol and a living proof that the Pistons organization is capable of doing wonders.

Last season, they qualified for the playoffs for just the second time in 10 years. It's a small achievement to some but a notable milestone for a struggling franchise. After all, the road to success cannot be rushed. The Pistons have to take it one step at a time. And according to Thomas, they are traversing the correct path. They just have to keep on moving.
