LiAngelo Ball became the only Ball brother without a spot in the NBA after his younger brother, LaMelo, was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets last month. That did not last long.

The middle Ball brother has reportedly signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Detroit Pistons, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Charania reported the contract is an Exhibit 10 deal, which would offer Ball a signing bonus to join a G-League affiliate if he is ultimately waived by the Pistons.

LiAngelo has not had the standard basketball journey by any stretch of the imagination.

LiAngelo Ball, like his two brothers, was one of the top prospects in the country at Chino Hills High School, ultimately opting to follow in Lonzo's footsteps and play at UCLA. But his collegiate career never even got off the ground.

LiAngelo and a pair of teammates were busted for shoplifting during an exhibition trip to China. Ball apologized, but eventually decided to leave UCLA after facing suspension. He and LaMelo then took their talents to Lithuania, giving the younger two Ball brothers their first taste of professional hoops.

The experience overseas did not do Ball any favors in the 2018 NBA Draft, however. He was not selected, and forced to wade through the waters before eventually landing a spot with the Oklahoma City Thunder's G-League affiliate as a practice player.

However, the Pistons will give Ball the chance to prove himself in training camp. Even if he fails to make the NBA team, a $50,000 signing bonus to play in the G-League is a decent comeuppance.
