Detroit Pistons power forward Blake Griffin is known for viciously dunking on the opposition, with the former Los Angeles Clippers superstar creating poster after poster for his NBA highlight reel. However, the perennial All-Star is capable of much more than dunking, which Griffin put on full display on Sunday evening against the surging Toronto Raptors — well, sort of…

Rather than dunking on one of the Raptors defenders, Griffin managed to sink this circus shot from behind the backboard. Unfortunately, though, it didn't count.

Despite Griffin carrying the majority of the workload for the Pistons these days, not all has remained well in the “Motor City” this season. Earlier in the year, it was clear that Griffin — among others — was frustrated with the play of the Eastern Conference franchise.

“Always high after a loss,” Griffin said after a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers back on January 9th, via NBA.com. “You never want to come in and have a performance like that, especially when you need wins. I think 1-through-12, however many we had out there tonight, the energy just wasn’t there. We have to figure that out. I thought we just did a poor job managing this trip so far.”

Picking up the pace since then, the Pistons currently sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Entering play on Sunday evening against the Raptors, the Pistons were sporting an even 31-31 record. Winning two in a row, the Pistons have actually won eight of the team's last 10 games to continue to stay red-hot into March.
