Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin has made an effort to improve his long-range shooting this offseason. Because of his poor shooting percentage from behind the arc last season, Griffin has made it a personal goal to become a better shooter. And what better shooting role model is there than Steph Curry?

Griffin showed off some of his improvements in a short clip of him balling in a gym, and the results look Curry-esque.

Griffin grabs the pass, takes two hard dribbles into contact, and then spins into a step-back three-pointer that he seems to know is good out of his hand.

Now, no one is saying Griffin is the same quality shooter as Curry, who is quite possibly the greatest shooter of all time. But it's nice to see Griffin is improving on a previously weak area and that jumper is looking particularly smooth.

Griffin has quite the load to carry in Detroit, where he was brought in with sky-high expectations. Pairing the former number one pick with a formidable 7-footer in Andre Drummond was supposed to bring immediate positive results, but the Pistons stumbled and didn't even make the playoffs in a watered-down Eastern Conference.

While this is a miniature sample size of Griffin's jumper, Pistons fans are hoping this look will carry over to the regular season. If the Pistons want any chance to compete with the likes if the Celtics or the 76er's and their stacked teams, Blake Griffin will have to shoot the lights out.
