The Detroit Pistons this summer have focused much of their attention on revamping their backcourt ahead of next season.

One of the pending moves could involve restricted free agent Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency. According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Pistons are still looming as the eventual landing spot for the veteran guard.

Another potential target is Detroit restricted free agent Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. A source said the Pistons likely would match any offer for the 6-foot-5 shooting guard.

Detroit holds the advantage in the situation to bring back Caldwell-Pope as they can match any offer sheet presented to him by another team. The 24-year-old has developed into a reliable player and is coming off a productive campaign where he averaged 13.8 points on a career-high 35 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

That said, the Pistons have already made a few other notable moves that suggest that the front office is ready to move on Caldwell-Pope having drafted former Duke standout guard Luke Kennard with the 12th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and have signed guard Langston Galloway to a three-year, $21 million deal.

Only time will tell if the Pistons do possess some real interest in bringing him back as things should shift once he receives a contract offer this offseason.
