Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe admits to French newspaper L'Équipe of calling his teammate Neymar a ‘bum' after not passing the ball.

Despite PSG's 2-0 victory against Montpellier last month, TV cameras caught Mbappe releasing his anger after being substituted late in the game, mouthing the word “clochard” towards Neymar's direction— translating to “bum” in English. When asked if this was true, Mbappe confirms L'Équipe of what he truly said.

Via The Independent:

“Yes, yes, I said it. Now, these are things which happen all the time in football. It just needs to be something that doesn't linger.”

Mbappe further explains how he handled the altercation with his PSG teammate. “That's why, right after, given how it blew up, I spoke to him about it. We already had a few exchanges like that in the past, and it will continue because we want to win, but there shouldn't be a certain resentment.”

“There isn't any [resentment] here at all because I respect the player and the man, and I admire what he is. But that's it. I wasn't happy with a pass. One day it happened to me too, I didn't pass it, and he wasn't happy. But there's no issue.”

The pair have been teammates since 2017, and despite the arrival of Lionel Messi, to this day, the French star has been linked with numerous rumors regarding his departure to join Real Madrid. Currently, PSG stands at the top of Ligue 1's table with 24 points, garnering eight wins and one loss.
